Biography

Designs sets and costumes for theatre; costumes for opera, dance, film, and television.  Recent credits include Broadway productions of Wicked (Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards), Lestat (Tony nomination), Spring Awakening (Tony nomination), Radio Golf, Assassins, Into the Woods (Tony nomination and Hewes Award), Jitney, Dirty Blonde; Laurie Anderson’s Moby Dick, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (national tour.)

Internationally and in America has designed 20 productions for playwright Athol Fugard (10 premieres) and is currently working with him as co-director and designer. In New York City, designs for New York Shakespeare Festival, Manhattan Theatre Club, Second Stage, New York Theatre Workshop, BAM Theatre Company, Lincoln Center, Playwrights Horizons, CSC, Roundabout, Circle in the Square, and for Broadway and off-Broadway productions.

Ballet designs for Eliot Feld, Alvin Ailey, and Jennifer Muller. Works at Resident Theaters including the Guthrie Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, Goodman Theatre, Berkeley Rep, Yale Rep, McCarter Theatre, Alliance Theatre, Indiana Rep, Kennedy Center, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Center Stage, and A.C.T. in San Francisco.

Internationally, her work has been produced in London, South Africa, Canada, Singapore, Germany and Australia. 

Has received many awards for her work including the 2001 Obie for Sustained Excellence in Costume Design.
