Biography
As an exhibition designer, exhibits for the Museum for African Art, the Jewish Museum, the Children’s Museum of Manhattan, the Children’s Museum of the East End, the Creative Discovery Museum (Chattanooga, TN), the Miami Children’s Museum, the American Craft Museum. Major exhibitions include The American Century: Art and Culture 1900-1950 at the Whitney Museum of American Art; Baul: African Art/ Western Eyes, and Love and Loss: American Miniature Paintings, both at the Yale University Art Gallery.He was the senior designer for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the National Children’s Museum (Washington D.C.), the Muhammed Ali Center, National Track and Field Hall of Fame, the College Basketball Hall of Fame. Corporate Clients have included Time/Warner, Clinique, Sony.
In theater and film: sets for Alvin Ailey Dance Company, the Juilliard Opera, the Atlantic Stage Company, Shapiro and Smith Dance, East Coast Artists, the Welsh National Company, the Contemporary Legends Theater of Taiwan, Laurie Anderson’s multimedia world tour Scenes from the Nerve Bible. Storyboard artist for film and television.
Illustrations for children’s books and many publications.
