Biography

Lighting Director for The Maury Povich Show for the past decade (twice nominated for an Emmy Award). Other television credits include The Ricki Lake Show, Home Delivery, Life & Style and Loving for ABC-TV.

Lighting designer for the Broadway revivals of A Streetcar Named Desire, starring Blythe Danner (American Theatre Wing nomination for best lighting), and The Devil’s Disciple, with Philip Bosco and Victor Garber.

Designed X, the Life and Times of Malcolm X (world premiere), From the House of the Dead (American premiere), and La Traviata for New York City Opera and productions for the Radio City Music Hall, starring the Rockettes. International credits include On Your Toes and The Planets (scenery and lighting) for the Stuttgart Ballet; The Turn of the Screw for the Netherlands Opera; The Turk in Italy for the Opera of Nantes, France; Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are for the Royal Belgian Opera; Sweet Bird of Youth with Joanne Woodward for Toronto’s Royal Alexandra Theatre; and productions in Vienna, Rome, Munich, and Spoleto, Italy.

Regional theatre: The Member of the Wedding and A Shayna Maidel for Hartford Stage; The American Clock for Williamstown Theatre Festival; Lady Be Good, Fanny, and You Never Know for the Goodspeed Opera House; King Lear, Romeo and Juliet, The Glass Menagerie, and The Emperor Jones for Missouri Repertory Theatre; and productions at the Kennedy Center, Wolf Trap, Ford’s Theatre in Washington, The American Music Theatre Festival in Philadelphia, Buffalo’s Studio Arena, and numerous opera companies throughout the United States.
